Obesity is a problem that is spreading like fire across both developed and emerging countries. It is amongst the top 5 killer diseases along with heart attack, cancer and diabetes. One in every 5 Americans is obese.
Nobody grows obese overnight. It is over a period of time that we start putting on weight and by the time we realize it, it is usually too late. We are unable to exercise due to excess weight and this in turn increases weight further. We are caught in this vicious cycle.
We need to realize that only exercise is not sufficient to reduce weight. Our lifestyle and diet habits have to be modified and regulated.
Children need to be educated about the implications of eating junk food and the importance of having a balanced diet.
Fatty food like cheese and butter should be completely avoided.
You should consume more of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Meals should be smaller in quantity and at frequent intervals.
Medications which claim to reduce weight have limited credibility.
There is no medical cure to reduce weight. Herbal products help in curbing food cravings. They also help in better absorption and digestion of the food we eat.
Wake up; get on to the treadmill, its never too late.
