No matter how long the condition lasts, it is debilitating to most women.

This condition is characterized with abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting.

Pain usually begins a few days before menstruation and lasts 2-3 days.

The pain is often spasmodic and can be relieved by lying down on your abdomen or taking a painkiller.

It is not recommended to take painkillers as this event occurs every month. In such situations, herbal preparations like Dong quai or wild yam are the best choice.
