BACKACHE DIET RECOMMENDATIONS

Diet For Backache

Backache is the general term for conditions that cause inflammation and pain in the lower back. Backache is usually treated with painkillers. Studies have shown that limiting food that triggers pain and including anti-inflammatory foods can reduce symptoms. These include red meat, highly-processed foods such as sugary or fermented foods; fried foods; and foods that contain “partially-hydrogenated oil”.

 

Recommended Foods

  • Rice, whole wheat bread, Moong, Kulatha, Til, Cow’s Ghee, Parwar, Louki, pomegranate, and ginger are all essential for bone formation and muscle function.
  • Foods rich in calcium include milk, yogurt, lassi, and green leafy vegetables.
  • Magnesium is found in dried fruits, nuts, wheat germ, and bananas.
  • Adequate potassium is important for managing backache, as well as providing toughness to muscles and helping in neurotransmission.
  • White beans, dark greens, apricots, and avocados are all potassium-rich foods. Also, salmon, bananas, mushrooms, apricots, and avocados.
  • Turmeric, ginger, and garlic have anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce pain. Include them in your diet.
  • Vitamin A helps to repair tissue and build bone. It helps the body to use protein efficiently. Vitamin A is found in the liver from beef, calf, and chicken, as well as dairy products such as milk, butter, and cheese.

Foods to Moderately Consume

  • Backache can be caused by non-vegetarian foods such as chicken, meat, and eggs. These are known to cause constipation.
  • Chickpeas and green peas are also moderated, as well as lentils, beans, lentils, and seeds.

Avoid these Foods

Karela, Green peas (bitter gourd), Barley, Bengal Gram (chickpeas), Fermented food/drinks (dried/frozen), cold water.

Home Remedies

  • Heat 10ml of sesame oil with 5-6 cloves and 5-6 garlic pieces on low heat for 5 minutes. Let cool a little, then gently massage your back every night.

This remedy is excellent for back pain, stiffness, and lumbago.

  • Backache can be relieved by combining freshly prepared ginger juice and black salt with lemon juice.
