The purpose of this blog is to create awareness about Endometriosis.
It is a condition in which there is inflammation of the lining of the uterus and these fragments of the uterine lining migrate and adhere to other sites in the pelvic cavity. The process happens during menstruation when the lining of the uterus instead of being shed out of the body, goes and adheres to other organs in the abdominal cavity. This tissue is under the influence of hormonal fluctuations and keeps growing and shrinking in size.
This leads to all sorts of symptoms. These include pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding and painful intercourse.
Treatment can be surgical wherein the tissue is removed, but this leaves behind a scar tissue which can cause similar problems.
So then what is the next best treatment?
Synthetic hormone replacement therapies and anti estrogenic drugs do help in controlling endometriosis, but with a lot of side effects.
The best way to address endometriosis is to have a holistic approach. This can be done with the help of natural hormones, supplements and diet adjustments.
These natural products help increase the progesterone levels and reduce the inflammation.
Dietary changes include avoiding red meat, dairy products and sugar from the diet. These small changes go a long way in preventing endometriosis.
