Bursitis is not a very commonly heard of disorder as compared to arthritis. In fact at times it is misdiagnosed as arthritis initially. It is an acute affection compared to arthritis. What exactly is bursitis then?

Bursitis is an inflammation of the fluid sac which is located between the joints. This sac contains synovial fluid which helps in easy movements of the joints. When it becomes inflamed, it causes pain and difficulty in movement of the affected joint. It typically causes a burning pain which can be felt in the absence of any hot stimulus in the area.

It is usually caused due to any repetitive action of that particular joint. It can also be caused due to obesity or due to any sudden trauma.

The best way to recover from Bursitis is to give adequate rest to the affected joint.

Analgesics and anti inflammatory drugs help in reducing the swelling and the pain.

Herbal products also help in quick recovery from Bursitis. They provide immediate and long lasting results. Normal activities can be resumed in one week’s time once the pain subsides.

All those who have suffered from Bursitis of the knee or hips, please help others with your suggestions.
