8 Facts Every Woman Should Know About Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrial lining that is found inside the uterus starts growing outside the uterus. It is a debilitating condition that affects the life of a woman suffering from it. It not only affects the sexual life of a woman but also her fertility. There are a lot of things that are generally misunderstood about endometriosis. Here some important facts about endometriosis are given that every woman should know:

  1. There are many things about endometriosis that are not known to us. The condition results due to a combination of imbalance of the immune system and a genetic predisposition of a woman though its real cause is not known. The risk factors for this condition include an occurrence of period earlier or achieving a menopause later, improper menstrual cycle, a family history, or imbalance of the hormones.
  2. There is not a definitive way of diagnosing the condition. Your doctor will give you the treatment for the excruciating pain that a woman feels during menstruation. The pain is so severe that it is worse than labor pains. The doctor may advise you to get an ultrasound or MRI imaging done to view endometrial cysts, but in many cases, no obvious sign is visible to the doctor that can help in the diagnosis of the condition.
  3. Conventional treatment for endometriosis includes painkillers and hormonal therapies that may give you a temporary relief from the symptoms but will not address the real cause of the disease. Therefore, you should look for natural therapies that can offer you better results. Click on
  4. Different women suffering from endometriosis may experience different symptoms. No two women experience the same symptoms. One woman may not experience any symptoms but another may suffer from debilitating pain during their menstrual cycle.
  5. Endometriosis could affect the fertility of a woman butis  not the case for all women suffering from it. Most women suffering from this condition find it difficult to get pregnant. But, they should not lose hope as there are several new assisted reproductive technologies that can improve the fertility of a woman in this condition.
  6. A diagnosis of endometriosis is not the end of the world for a woman. Many women diagnosed with endometriosis live a healthy life. They also get pregnant and bear successful pregnancies.
  7. Every symptom experienced by a woman during menstruation or otherwise should not be related to endometriosis. There are many symptoms that occur in the disease having similar mechanisms. For example, irritable bowel syndrome, irritable bladder syndrome, and pain in the pelvic floor muscles are some of the symptoms experienced by women suffering from endometriosis. But, these are not the main symptoms associated with endometriosis. Such symptoms may occur in several other health problems.
  8. Some women are advised surgery as the mode of treatment but do not cure endometriosis. The symptoms may improve for a short period of time but surgery is not the right solution. You can consult one of the Biogetica’s doctor for free by clicking here for more options.
