 Obesity can be defined as an excess deposition of adipose tissue. However, it is difficult to decide what should be labeled as excess. Body Mass Index (BMI) can be used for this purpose. [BMI= weight/height [Kg/m2]. A BMI of 30 or more in men and 28.6 or more in women is termed as obesity. The main causes of obesity are faulty eating habits and metabolic disturbances. The incidence of obesity rises with age. However, some people are obese from childhood.

Obesity Causes

As is evident from the above, every case of obesity requires a lot of delving into. Proper insight into the problem is essential in order to achieve satisfactory results.
Signs and Symptoms of Obesity
Some obese people have a history of being obese from childhood. These people have fat deposited all over the body, uniformly.
Most obese people put on weight some time during adulthood. They tend to have most of their fat deposited in the central part of their bodies.
