Causes of Fibromyalgia

The exact cause of Fibromyalgia is not yet known. Studies indicate that the central nervous system (brain) becomes supersensitive in this condition. The pain-receptor cells (neuron) in the brain, which receive signals from the neurotransmitters, seem to become more sensitive to pain signals.
