What is Menorrhagia?

Menorrhagia, also known as hypermenorrhea, is a condition characterized by excessive and/or prolonged menstrual bleeding. Normal menstrual flow lasts 4 to 5 days and about 30 to 40 ml of blood is lost in each cycle.
