Causes

Staphylococcus Aureus is the bacterium that causes boils. The bacteria affect the hair follicle. Infection occurs when there is any breach in the continuity of skin, like a wound or cut.

Once infection occurs, the body's defense mechanisms get into action to fight it, thus creating inflammation and the formation of pus.
