Mouth-ulcers

Have you ever experienced those painful tiny bumps in your mouth?

They can make life really miserable for as long as they last.

These are called apthae or mouth ulcers which develop on the mucus membrane of the oral cavity.

Mouth or the oral cavity is said to be the mirror of the digestive system. If there is a problem in it’s functioning it leads to mouth ulcers as one of its earliest manifestations.

These are very painful and usually last for 5-7 days. Talking, eating and swallowing become very difficult due to these ulcers.

The causes of these ulcers can be deficiencies of Vitamin B12 and Folic acid, inefficient digestion or chronic constipation.

Treatment should be aimed at eliminating the cause rather than just treating the manifestations.

Deficiencies should be combated by giving supplements containing vitamins and minerals. Lifestyle and dietary changes play a vital role in cure of apthae.

Spicy food is a total no for those suffering from mouth ulcers. Diet should contain more of fresh fruits and vegetables.

One should have plenty of water to avoid constipation as far as possible.

Natural products like honey may temporarily ease your sufferings. Herbal products help inimproving digestion with their natural rejuvenative, immunomodulatory, immunostimulant and adaptogenic properties.
